Anonymous hacks AAPT "user data"

And that folks..... is why the government shouldn't be asking ISP's to collect this data.

Shame its not "just politician data" that Anonymous are leaking onto the internet. If politicians in Australia and the USA etc say there is nothing to hide here and that this data should be stored for a minimum of 2 years then fine, lets start with all the senators etc posting their browsing habits/internet data live onto a public website first for 2 years and then they can vote on this issue.

http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2012/07/anonymous-dumps-australian-telco-data-online/
After the threats, admissions and delays, hacktivists protesting the data retention scheme proposed by the Federal Government’s National Security Inquiry have begun dumping data gleaned from an Australian telco — presumably AAPT.

So far, the dump looks to be as large as we were promised: 40GB of customer data. Sources leaking the data say that there are over 600 tables of customer information set to be published, and after looking at the first few, it looks to be all business account information.

Amazon sales tax and what it means to you

Amazon is backing a bill that would allow states to collect or remit sales tax on items purchased from a small number of large, out-of-state online retailers including Amazon and Overstock.

Amazon are only supporting this bill now because they intend to setup distribution centers across the USA for next day/same day delivery.

I think its shamefull they have flipped their position now it suits them and as much as possible i spend my money with other online providers because of their actions.

Its good to see that Senators Mike Enzi, Lamar Alexander, and Dick Durbin are deep isnide Amazons pocket on this issue.....hope the donation "bribe" check doesnt prevent you from sleeping at night guys.

Microsoft isnt going anywhere

Wow Vanityfair what a piece of crap article, people forget Apple was almost bankrupt at one stage. I'm not saying what Apple have done since then isnt amazing but lets face it Microsoft is hardly "flaming out in a ball of death" the way this article would have you believe.

Microsoft’s Lost Decade

Once upon a time, Microsoft dominated the tech industry; indeed, it was the wealthiest corporation in the world. But since 2000, as Apple, Google, and Facebook whizzed by, it has fallen flat in every arena it entered: e-books, music, search, social networking, etc., etc. Talking to former and current Microsoft executives, Kurt Eichenwald finds the fingers pointing at C.E.O. Steve Ballmer, Bill Gates’s successor, as the man who led them astray.

Microsoft’s low-octane swan song was nothing if not symbolic of more than a decade littered with errors, missed opportunities, and the devolution of one of the industry’s innovators into a “me too” purveyor of other companies’ consumer products. Over those years, inconsequential pip-squeaks and onetime zombies—Google, Facebook, Apple—roared ahead, transforming the social-media-tech experience, while a lumbering Microsoft relied mostly on pumping out Old Faithfuls such as Windows, Office, and servers for its financial performance.

Google CEO's to be arrested by ICE any day now

Mark Gibbs wrote a great article last week that needs to get more traction.

Is Google guilty of enabling piracy?

This is exactly the point i've been making all along about Richard O'Dwyer, he cannot be charged or convicted with something that Google and Yahoo etc are doing each and every day.

This is one court case i really wish i was chosen to sit on the jury for.

Early Fall?

Based on this photo you would think its Fall today already.

Social media tools failing in Syria

lol how do you know Americans are being lied to, watch the footage difference about whats happening in Damascus between CNN and Russia Today (ch 135 for people on Time Warner in New York).

Yes the rebels are involved in street to street fighting in the suburb of of Al-Midan but a lot of Damascus life is going on as normal. If you just went off the footage "being smuggled out" by "Rebel Social Media" you would think the entire city had been over run in victory.

lol no wonder Time Warner wont allow Al Jazeera access on their network.

Facebook Algorithm

Facebook did something funky about 6 weeks ago about a week or two before they started offering promoted posts.

We all know they have quarterly filings and need to show a profit on however the issue is this.

I'm a heavy Facebook user and log in at least 5-6 times a day with a few hundred friends and probably about the same in likes however now i'm seeing less than 20 uploads every few hours whereas before there would be 100+ every few hours for me to read.

I'm sure if Aunt Jenny only logs in once a month then your algorithms are great however you should give US the END USERS the choice about whether we want Facebook to filter on our behalf OR if we want to see EVERYTHING.

At the moment there is no other game in town but you are really screwing the pooch on this issue and one day you'll look back the way MySpace looks back on blinking text and say yeh.....thats where we went wrong.

Lol please tell me i'm not the only sick person in the world that finds this the funniest thing on TV, only just started watching in the last few weeks but the blue and pink trashbag scene I just saw was one of the funniest 60 seconds i have ever seen in my life.
