If you haven't listened to "Bright Eyes - No Lies, Just Love" then your life is just a little incomplete

Neat use of QR codes

As firework stands open for business, one Utah vendor has created a way for buyers to preview what they're getting before they check out.

I love science -

You have to wonder what Galileo would think if someone was able to show him this video :)

I'm continually in awe of what makes someone able to see "something" no one else had even though hammers and feathers had been around for thousands of years.

What can you "see" if not for the distractions around you.

Country of Convenience

I applied for a replacement passport today at the Australian consulate....$230 for a 32 page 10 year passport and thought.....hmmm I wonder if there are any other countries that offer it for cheaper.

I mean lets face it there is nothing saying that I as an Australian citizen overseas HAS to have an AUSTRALIAN passport.

Its interesting after you have travelled/changed country residency/married and divorced and remarried again that its all just bits of paper and what we "think is real" is pretty much irrelevant.

So any countries out there wanting to bid on my next passport....get in line with your bids in 2023 :)

Tropfest 2013

Photo from Tropfest last weekend. Was great to see them in a bigger location (Bryant park last year was packed), interestingly way less aussies than you would think, mainly locals (and a huge south African contingent for some reason :)

$1b Thats not know whats cool

Edward Snowden is doing a live AMA

Edward Snowden is doing a live AMA on the Guardian website right now!!
This was the question that rang truest for me

17 June 2013 2:12pm
Given the enormity of what you are facing now in terms of repercussions, can you describe the exact moment when you knew you absolutely were going to do this, no matter the fallout, and what it now feels like to be living in a post-revelation world? Or was it a series of moments that culminated in action? I think it might help other people contemplating becoming whistleblowers if they knew what the ah-ha moment was like. Again, thanks for your courage and heroism.

I imagine everyone's experience is different, but for me, there was no single moment. It was seeing a continuing litany of lies from senior officials to Congress - and therefore the American people - and the realization that that Congress, specifically the Gang of Eight, wholly supported the lies that compelled me to act. Seeing someone in the position of James Clapper - the Director of National Intelligence - baldly lying to the public without repercussion is the evidence of a subverted democracy. The consent of the governed is not consent if it is not informed.

China whats it all about

China.....whats it all about - check out these two photos

Those photos are taken in exactly the same spot.....just a couple of years apart and now there is a world class man made marina with concrete breakwater and "luxury" high end resort holiday houses where there was nothing before.

BTW each of these catamarans are worth several million a piece -

Let This Be

#NowWatching the Julie Kathryn - video clip for "Let This Be"
Stunning visuals to match and equally emotive song. Very "Twin Peaks'ish" (though kind of reminds me of music from the "Until The End Of The World" movie).

I hear you....but now you hear me.

I think its time for ordinary people to show their disapproval to politicians that whenever and wherever they speak we turn our backs to them. Be prepared to listen - but always only with our backs turned.

Until the politicians change they will only ever see our backs. They need to learn, but we are not them.

They work for us, not the other way around.

Some how we forgot this along the way.

The Sessions

Just watched The Sessions - wow Helen Hunt got ripped off by not getting The Academy Award for best supporting actress in 2012
An amazing film -

(BTW havent seen the Artist but cant believe John Hawkes wasn't even nominated for Best Actor though i'm having trouble in my head reconciling that this is the same guy who was in  Martha Marcy May Marlene - as looks/acts like two totally different people).

Losing the hacking war

Watching this video is depressing.... Wait until you get to 1.15min where they demonstrate the firewire and pcie bypass.......

Irrelevant Commercials Suck

Hey YouTube...I have zero interest in seeing Square Stand advertisement videos.....if I didn't click on it the 256th time you showed me the commercial.....I'm unlikely to click on it the 257th.....

You want to know why people don't click on ads.....its because you show shit ads.
