Ultraviolet closing down

Just received an email to say that the Ultraviolet streaming service is closing down...... so anyone that purchased/relies on Ultraviolet to watch their movies.....I guess you are SOOL (Shit Out Of Luck).

Yet again another streaming service (this one with major players and funders) is shutting down. I'll add it to my list of streaming content providers where you thought you were buying/paying for content.....but instead you were only purchasing a revocable license.

I'll stick to buying my content on BluRay, DVD and CD and rip the content to my own media service where I can continue to access it forever (or until I can no longer source players to rip the content......considering they pulled headphone jacks from iPhones its not entirely out of the realm of possibility).

I've always kept but just never used the UV codes that came with BluRays also I've purchased a number of BluRays 'second hand but in mint condition' having come without the codes (eg people buy them retail then sell without the code and just use UV). I guess I was getting the better end of the bargain after all.

Wonder if any lawyers are putting together a UV class action suit......I could have quite a case now I can no longer access UltraViolet content :)

RIP Ultraviolet..... along with Zune library, Yahoo Music, Walmart MP3 streaming service etc etc etc

How did i miss Split/Unbreakable tie-in?

I rewatched #Unbreakable and #Split on BluRay this weekend in anticipation of seeing #Glass on Friday, they actually held up really well and watching them back to back like that made the trilogy building aspects much more noticeable.

Also was super weird it wasn't obvious when watching #Split at the movies a few years ago that it was obviously a sequel to #Unbreakable ....but didnt think about the obvious tie-ins until the coffee shop scene.

How the heck did I miss it first time around??

LNP now claiming Labors plan for LTCG is wrong......or is it?

Interesting how the LNP are now saying Labors proposal for removing LTCG discount for real estate is a bad idea

When it was the LNP that screwed over hard working Aussie expats in the first place removing our LTCG discounts in the first place.
