I know from me... an anti-war pro-GDP wonk......this is pretty out there but watching this interview makes me almost have to admire the USA State Departments ability in the last 3 to 4 years in their ability to wipe out Osama/Al-Qaeda and instead get a fairly moderate ISIS in place who show almost zero interest in bombing the USA, sure the caliphate may be a problem in 4-8 years from now but Al-Qaeda was a real problem yesterday/today/tomorrow etc.

I wonder when watching a talk show with somewhat idealistic but at least brutally honest points about economic war being waged how tv talk show hosts like Zakaria/Crowley/Stelter continue to bring out the Dem/Rep show ponies to say nothing like these brutally honest talking points about an economic war being waged that most Americans don't even know is taking place let alone understand......

The American publics ability to sleep through whats going on at the moment continues to amaze me.

I'm guessing about $40 a barrel inflation adjusted...... makes the current drop to $70 seem like no big deal.

The example used of the minimum wage (lol I don't know about you but I couldn't live on $1160 a month but its there...) is a good way to calculate it eg sell 143 self pressed cd's congrats you made minimum wage - have 4 million people play your song on Spotify..... congrats you made minimum wage.


That's 5,500 people every hour, every day, for a month.....congrats you made $7,25 per hour (for a 40 hour week).

I don't know why but I always thought the moon spun on its axis the same way the earth does and as such thought "the far side of the moon" meant "the side not facing the earth at that particular time......."

You learn something new every day.....basically the moon has a "bump" and because of gravitation that bump faces us permanently.

Its a little biit more complicated than that as the moon "IS" spinning on its axis but because of how we are spinning its still always facing earth.
even harder to understand we are actually seeing about 59% of the moon because of the "rocking" motion or speeding up and slowing down which has a technical term called "libration"
So there really is a far side of the moon......and if you were there you couldn't use radio to talk to people back on earth....
