The USPTO has a lot to answer for in how it has harmed IP progress in the USA.
Unfortunately as USA politics is perpetually corrupted by money the current status quo will never change here until someone or something bigger than the USA drives out the buyers and sellers in the temple of money.
Will be interesting to see how this court case affects patent applications moving forward.
